$120.00Add to cartWe came late to this and could only grab 2 bottles but the reviews for this wine are stellar across the internet. We suspect this will be gone before anyone gets a chance read this but here’s what we can tell you. 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Semillon, 10% Muscadelle. 1990 was the first vintage this wine was produced and the 2020 is the first vintage with new equipment to more precisely control oxygen levels and temperatures. Fermented in oak (50% new) and aged on the lees for 6 months the Lynch Bages Blanc is one of the most rewarding drinking experiences in white wine.

The organic Tibouren comes from vineyards close to the sea in the shadow of the Maures mountains which provide a great backing corridor for wind to keep the grapes healthy. The wine is made in stainless like most rosés but it spends a year in oak foudres aging on the lees under a thin layer of flor which imparts both flavor and texture.

$80.00Add to cartBen and I were fortunate enough to garner an invitation to taste with Mr. Bitouzet on his first trip to the United States despite having made fantastic (and popular) wines for decades. It was incredible to be able to taste the line-up with the producer and hear Neal Rosenthal tell stories about their relationship and the wines. What struck us, though, during the tasting was how much soul the wines have. There are other producers who make similar wines from similar parcels of land but these wines have a marked depth and are all absolutely worth tastings.

The pebbly slope has all kinds of life and even a few rare corm trees. The wine itself is aged on the lees in barrique for a year with 25% new oak before resting in stainless. The resulting wine is clean, smooth and full of citrus and honeysuckle with a well-integrated, judicious note of oak. -
