Calluna Vineyards CVC Calluna Vineyards Cuvee Chalk Hil 2018
Calluna Vineyards Cuvée (CVC) is meant to be an expression of hte Chalk Hill appellation where great sunlight and a cool climate produces intense fruit in a wine with balancing acidity, round tannins and moderate alcohol levels.
The wine takes a cue from the Right Bank of Bordeaux and is built primarily on Merlot with a bit of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.

Castelfeder Kerner Lahn
Heading into Alto Adige (the far northern, semi-autonomous region of Italy that borders Austria) is like stepping into German wine country. The grapes for this Kerner grow at an altitude of almost 900m above sea level in one of the highest vineyards in South Tyrol. This German grape is a cross between Trollinger and Riesling and is named after the Swabian poet Justinus Kerner. It’s got great acidity, a vibrant freshness, and rich lemon, peach, and mango flavors.

Domaine de la Quilla Muscadet 2022
Since 1948 the Vinet family has been producing excellent wines and forty years ago they were on the forefront of exporting Muscadet to the American market. Since then they have only refined the delicious example of Melon de Bourgogne. These wines are excellent value and while they feel light and mineral they can actually be aged, but good luck not drinking it in the meantime!

The legendary Becky Wasserman has this to say about Guiberteau: Romain Guiberteau owns some of the best land in Brézé, and makes dry chenins of punk rock violence, yet of Bach-like logic and profoundness.
This wine from Brézé is one of the peaks of Chenin Blanc. It’s incredibly dry with ripping texture and acid. It’s like watching a linebacker dance ballet.

La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou Saint Julien 2019
This is the Medoc’s smallest village, and while it has no first growths it has the highest amount of classified estates in the Medoc. The gravels are less deep that Pauillac so are less hefty but still grace. This expression is from one of the oldest estates and has all the delightful notes of the region: cedar, violets, graphite and will definitely benefit from some aging, so this 2015 is just entering its ideal drinking window.

The Proidls see themselves as craftsmen and mountain winegrowers with a past (they’ve been working the sites since 1738) and a promising future. They are minimalists and want to showcase wines that are made with patience and precision. The results are as precise as one would hope.
The Riesling we are sharing has classic hallmarks of a Riesling grown on granite soils. There’s a fine herbal, savory component that plays off fresh fruit like peach, young citrus, and tart apples, but the mineral core, along with the fresh acid and long finish, makes this a wine that we can see ourselves enjoying just as much (if not more!) ten years from now.
Pair with almost any food, but this will shine with Thai.

St. Supery is a 100% estate grown, sustainably farmed winery with over 1,600 acres of land (two thirds are left in their natural state to encourage biodiversity). They are water and energy efficient and have built in pest management. With land preservation as a top priority it’s no surprise that their wines taste alive. This sauvignon blanc wine is full of grapefruit, kiwi, and vanilla aromas that dance over lively acidity. It is a hefty wine that maintains some lightness with the acid. We’d call it crisp, rich, and flavorful.
