Juan Francisco Farina Los Loros Listan Blanco 2022
$41.00Add to cartThis interesting wine comes from the Valle de Güímar, a small DO on the eastern coast of Tenerife. The area is particularly know for white wines made with Listan Blanco grapes that are lifted by the trade winds blowing off the Atlantic, keeping temperatures low. His small operation makes very interesting expressions—this wine, for example, spends time under flor and develops similarities to a sherry while maintaining its volcanic, earthy freshness. Absolutely fascinating, absolutely delicious. (If you are looking for crisp, easily accessible Listan we’d recommend looking elsewhere as this is a delightful, but full bodied complex, pensive Listan.)

La Rivolta Fiano 2022
$28.00Add to cartIn antiquity, the Fiano grape was known as apiana, as its sweet berries were attractive to bees. Vines were traditionally found near hazelnut orchards, which has seemingly influenced the grape’s flavor profile. However, it is in the town of Avellino where the Fiano grape produces its most mineral-driven wines with long aging potential.
The Cotroneo family has embraced a sustainable approach to viticulture, and the beautiful organic vineyards of Fattoria La Rivolta are nestled among the picturesque and mountainous landscapes of Campania’s Taburno DOC. The wines they produce are delicious.
This is a beautifully delicate wine, with hints of fresh fruit, almond, hazelnut, citrus fruits, herbs, white flowers, and dried flowers. On the palate, this is a full-bodied wine with light fruit and floral notes.
-

Over a glass or two it will open into more expressive white peaches, juicy apples, and herbs all set over the granitic mineral core.

Lingua Franca Chardonnay Bunker Hill Vineyard 2021
$85.00Add to cartBunker Hill Chardonnay is selected from the old vine material in the Salem Hills at an elevation of 650-700ft above sea level, overlooking the Willamette River from the east side. The volcanic soils here are particularly shallow and rocky, making for a sleek wine of mineral brilliance that will evolve for many years.
The grapes were picked to maximize freshness and tension in the finished wine. Whole cluster pressed, settled in tank for 24 hours on average, barrel fermented in a combination of 22% new, 600 liter puncheons and 78% old French oak barriques from diverse coopers and left to age for 11 months. Full malolactic fermentation completed in each vessel and then the wines were put back in tank with their lees for five months prior to bottling.
