Cascina Penna-Currado Barbera d’Alba Carra 2022
$59.00Add to cartCascina Penna-Currado is the new and exciting project from the Penna-Currado Vietti family, spearheaded by Elena Penna, Luca Currado Vietti and their kids, Michele and Giulia. After running one of the Piedmont’s most respected wineries (see the last names), the family decided to focus on an artisanal expression of what the Piedmont can provide.
This is a focused and interesting Barbera with a core of pretty dark fruits and good tension. Luca is an incredible winemaker and we look forward to seeing how all of his wines develop.

Caymus Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2018
$250.00Add to cartCaymus only produces two wines. Both are bold California Cabs, but what makes the special selection so special? The special selection takes the very best barrels of Caymus in only great vintages, which means that some years there isn’t a special selection. One of the points of pride for Caymus is that their wines are enjoyable on release or with age, so if you are looking for a special California Cab to drink tonight, look no further.

Chateau Bardins Pessac Leognan 2018
$54.00Add to cartA Bordeaux with soul. The Château Bardins is both supple and tense, with a velvety Merlot robe pulled snugly over a chiseled structure. It has tannins, but they aren’t mean, it’ll get even better with age. It’s a wine that ultimately is straightforward and enjoyable, but has depth of character and flavor.
-
Chateau Beausejour Puisseguin Saint-Emilion Cuvee Speciale 2022
$36.00Add to cartThe Dupuy family has been in Puisseguin since the Middle Ages. Marceau Dupuy, a doctor and politician, bought Chateau Beauséjour in 1934. It is still 40 acres of vineyard planted mostly with Merlot and a bit of Cabernet Franc on the clay and limestone terrain of Saint Emilion. This wine is opulent and has beautiful Bordeaux flavors for a great price.
-
Chateau de Chaintres Saumur Champigny Vieilles Vignes 2020
$31.00Add to cartWe love the Loire, it’s the garden of France, and the wines almost across the board retain a beautiful earthiness. While the Tigny family has owned this 17th century chateau since the 1930s it was the addition of cellar master Jean-Philippe Louis that they really stepped up their game, converting the estate to biodynamics, hand picking, and allowing for spontaneous fermentation.
The vines that plunge the deepest into the tuffeau soils of the vineyards range from 50 to 80 years of age. Despite the concentration and structure a sense of freshness permeates this wine—making it “très digeste”. Graceful tannins and an assertive underlying minerality contribute a salty-savory edge to the fruit.

Chateau Haut Brion Premier Grand Cru Classe Pessac Loegnan 2018
$890.00Add to cartHaut Brion has been revered for centuries as one of the world’s greatest wines. Favored by kings, presidents (Thomas Jefferson was a noted fan), and the upper echelons of the wine industry, it hasn’t lost a step. This is a complex, deeply layered wine that will continue to get better for the next few decades (if not longer).
-

Chateau Talbot Saint Julien 2020
$99.00Add to cartChateau Talbot is a 4th Cru Classé in Saint-Julien and is one of the Médoc’s most emblematic names. It’s one of the Medoc’s oldest estates, and through the years has been fortunate enough to remain in good hands. The current owners are the fourth generation of the same family managing Talbot.
The soils are well raised and gravelly producing classic Bordeaux aromas all in a balanced package. It’s lively and framed by a sensational texture and a lingering finish. Aromas of plum confit, crème de cassis, tobacco, licorice, and roasted herbs mingle with a woody, charcuterie-like savory note that will only deepen with age.

Clos Mogador Priorat Tinto 2020
$144.00Add to cartThe estate of Clos Mogador is a must try for anyone interested in learning about Spanish wine. From the heart of Priorat René Barbier creates this heady Garnacha-dominant blend. It has structure, power, and elegance, but for all that retains finesse—even in old age. Drink now or lay down for 10+ years.
-
Comte Armand Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 1er Cru 2022
$299.00Add to cartA monopole from a fantastic producer. This Pommard is a gem of the Cote de Beaune. While it’s young, there is complexity already. It has ripe fruit and enough earthy spice that this is going to mature into a beautiful wine.
-
Cosimo Taurino Notarpanaro Rosso 2012
$25.00Add to cartThis wine is an easy recommendation and hopped right out the gates as a staff favorite (especially for Will) showing that no matter the price point you can find wines with depth and soul.
Hailing from Lecce in Puglia (the heel of the Italian boot) where most wine is made in bulk to be drunk out of a jug comes a wine that’s rustic and earthy while still being classic and elegant. This is Grand Cru Puglia, a diamond in the rough?
Cosimo Taurino takes his wines seriously, holding them back for years to tame the tannins and allow them to harmonize in the bottle. This current release is a 2012!
-
Coutale Clos La Cahors 2022
$23.00Add to cartThis is not the Malbec you probably know. You may not know that until it was popularized by the Argentinians, no one really knew the grape, and in fact most of the vines in Cahors, France were being ripped out. But as its international fame grew a few producers took a look at what they had and decided they could sell make wine with these grapes. We are thankful because this is a delicious, earthier expression that we really enjoy.
-
Cristom Vineyards Mt. Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir 2022

Dal Forno Romano Amarone Monte Lodoletta 2017 750ml
$504.00Add to cartThis is a wine that will reward patience. Like most Amarone’s the Dal Forno is brooding, brimming with dark cherries and violets that play off the spice, earth, and coffee notes that add complexity. This balance between the rich acidity, the savory umami, and the fresh fruit leave this looking like a linebacker dancing a ballet. It’s graceful.
