We suspect this will be gone before anyone gets a chance read this but here’s what we can tell you. 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Semillon, 10% Muscadelle. 1990 was the first vintage this wine was produced and the 2020 is the first vintage with new equipment to more precisely control oxygen levels and temperatures. Fermented in oak (50% new) and aged on the lees for 6 months the Lynch Bages Blanc is one of the most rewarding drinking experiences in white wine.

The soils are well raised and gravelly producing classic Bordeaux aromas all in a balanced package. It’s lively and framed by a sensational texture and a lingering finish. Aromas of plum confit, crème de cassis, tobacco, licorice, and roasted herbs mingle with a woody, charcuterie-like savory note that will only deepen with age.

$96.00Add to cartThis is a fascinating wine. Most people’s conception of Chablis is that it should be drunk young, preferably with oysters, but this wine provides an aged counter-point. It has a nutty and almost sherry-like nose that you would think is prematurely oxidized, but the palate is so fresh it’s like sucking on an electric lemon.
