Sono Montenidoli Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2023
$36.00Add to cartA gorgeously savory organic whire that’s a favorite of Olivia. Montenidoli’s estate is in the Tuscan hills between Siena and Florence and they produce distinct wines that have impressed other winemaking luminaries across the world.
Olivia’s pick comes from a producer that we’ve carried before but has recently returned to the shop. That’s right, fan (and staff) favorite Tuscan producer Montenidoli is back (for now). This beautifully textured white wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel but has a bit more skin contact than many white wines, imparting a firmer texture and deeper color. Delicious.

Sorelli Chianti 2023
$15.00Add to cartA great entry into Chianti. This wine is balanced and easy but captures the beauty the Tuscan sun and soils can bring to grapevines.

Tenuta Rapitala Grillo Viviri 2023
$20.00Add to cart“I’m not a fan of most Grillo—they mostly taste like cheap white wine! They are effortless, but in a bad way. I’m not above calling them insipid, but this wine has real character. It’s textured with great aromatics and you can tell the producers spent time working to make an excellent wine for a low price. I love it.” -David

Vicus Irpania Falanghina 2024
$25.00Add to cartFalanghina is one of the best “everyday” grapes of Italy and in Naples, the Amalfi, and Campania it makes noteworthy, if easy, white wines. This example comes from a sustainability-focused, female owned winery in Campania. This wine is somewhere between sea breeze and inland herbs and is a really tasty example of what the grape can do.

Vie de Romans Vieris Sauvignon Blanc 2021
$49.00Add to cartWhen we first opened this wine we all stopped talking. It was so aromatic and interesting that it shut us right up—and if you know us that’s saying something. We love a wine like this that challenges us and is entirely unexpected. This is a Sauvignon Blanc for real Sauvignon Blanc lovers. What a wine.

Vietti Barolo Villero Riserva 2016
$650.00Add to cartThis is the highest level of wine from Vietti and is an absolute crusher that can be opened and enjoyed now or age for another generation. The grapes are sourced from the Villero vineyard, one of the most significant vineyards of the entire Barolo area, in Castiglione Falletto. The grapes are gently harvested, pressed and fermented for around four months in steel with regular pump over including maceration that involved the traditional submerged cap method. Malolactic conversion takes place in wood and it ages for 30 months in large oak casks. The nose is full, complex and elegant. Notes of intense red fruit and plum with complex herbal underbrush dominate the nose while the palate is balanced, silky, and all-enveloping. The tannin is present and well-integrated with a long finish. Open a few hours before serving.
-
Vietti Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2020
$269.00Add to cartThe grapes for the Roche di Castiglione come from one of the oldest vineyards in the entire Barolo region: Rocche di Castiglione Falletto. The vines in this vineyard were planted in 1940, 1950 and 1968. The grapes are pressed into stainless where they rest for three weeks before being moved into wood for malolactic and 30 months of aging in barrel. The nose of this beautiful wine is complex and elegant. More lifted and less brooding than the Brunate with notes of mandarin, ripe red fruit and rose petal, accompanied by a hint of chamomile. It is fresh, balanced, silky, enveloping and full-bodied on the palate. The tannins are prominent but well-integrated with a long and persistent finish. Decant for a few hours before serving.
