Lioco Mendocino County Pinot Noir 2022
$32.00Add to cartPinot Noir loves a cool climate, so the strong influence of the cold Pacific air is the perfect place to grow this grape. The vintage was difficult for growers, meaning that the fruit that did make it to the winemakers was concentrated and expressive—perfect for Pinot lovers. Blending fruit from four sites around the county allowed Lioco to produce a gorgeously balanced wine that takes the best characteristics from each of their sites to produce a wine that tastes like Northern California: brambly coastal berries (cherry, black raspberry), pine resin, dried tobacco, iron, salinity, and blue florals.

Martha Stouman Post Flirtation 2023
$35.00Add to cartSince 2014 Martha Stoumen has been making delicious minimal intervention wines that focus first on farming. Her choice of warm weather sites allow for less manipulation in the vineyards for the 1/4 of grapes that she grows while finding farmers who share her passion for the others.
The Post Flirtation is a Community fan favorite that is perfect for chilling. It’s juicy and ready for warm afternoon.

Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021
$82.00Add to cartFor 40 years Merry Edwards produced Pinots that could be described as classically California. She retired in 2020 but the legacy continues on under her watchful eye. This wine blends a complete picture of Russian River. It’s big and boisterous cola tinged with candied black raspberries. Lush and juicy with a spiced finish.

Monte Rio Cellars Zinfandel 2022
$29.00Add to cartA fun project from former New York sommelier Patrick Cappiello and longtime west coast winemaking fixture Pax Mahle. This Zin comes from very old (85-120 years) vines. It’s juicy and food friendly and a great weeknight wine.

Obsidian Ridge Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$50.00Add to cartThis is a wine that is an exploration of volcanic soil in a part of the world where twenty years ago, they planted a vineyard on an old abandoned walnut orchard, 2,875 feet high in the Mayacamas Mountains that turned out to be a ridge of solid black Obsidian glass. All of the extremes in this site come together to form a truly interesting wine that we think is worth trying for any Cabernet fan.

$34.00Add to cartPaul Dolan was a pioneer of California winemaking best known for the 27 years he spent at Fetzer in Mendocino county where he helped to develop the California Code of Sustainability for Winegrowing. This Zin is a juicy and well made example of what the region does so well: balanced, expressive, and ocean influenced.

Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$275.00Add to cartQuilceda Creek is singularly focused on making incredible Cabernet and live by the motto: “the best Cabernet we’ve ever made is the next one.” In less than 20 years, they’ve made seven 100-point wines. The wines are big and beautifully complex—the perfect candidate for long aging (but generous enough to enjoy now). Among other high praise (multiple 100 point scores) critic Jeb Dunnuck wrote “This is unquestionably up with the greatest vintages of this cuvée ever made.”

Railsback Freres Cuvee Speciale Le Carignane California Red Wine 2021
$41.00Add to cartThis wine was inspired by the wines of sommelier cult producer, Maxime Magnon, and Beaujolais’ Gang of Four in Morgon, and the Railsback brothers decided to make a whole-cluster Carignan using partial carbonic maceration, which makes for a juicy-fruited, crushable red that can take a chill. -

Ridge Lytton Springs 2022
$89.00Add to cartThe Ridge Lytton Springs wine is the second step up in the storied producer’s Zinfandel offerings. Celebrating their 50th vintage from this old vine site (that already had 80 year old vines on the property) the wine is Zin dominant with a bit of Petite Sirah, Carignane, and a kiss of Alicante Bouschet. It has a complex nose of boysenberry, cigar box, anise and sage, and is full-bodied with mouth coating tannins and balanced acidity to round it out. Notes of plum, blackberry, mineral, pepper, and dark chocolate play on the tongue. Yum.

Ridge Three Valleys Sonoma County 2021
$45.00Add to cartIs Ridge the best American producer? Maybe, the Montebello is a truly transcendent bottle of wine.
The Three Valleys bottling is the perfect intro to Zinfandel. It’s big and plummy and generous. It’s a fun, full-bodied bottle that showcases what Zin can be in the right hands.
This is a perfect choice if you are happy with the warmer weather but still want something dark and even a little brooding. It’s like curling up with a good crime drama. I’d recommend pairing it with Elaine May’s Mikey & Nicky.

Snowden Vineyards The Ranch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$84.00Add to cartFour generations of the Snowden family have worked the Napa Valley property since the 1950s, and their innate understanding of the land allows them to produce classically styled, terroir-driven wines.
The 2021 vintage featured smaller than average grapes which gives this wine a much bolder structure. Think crushed cherries, rich acidity, and velvety tannins that warm you up as you drink them down.
84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot and fermented by wild yeasts before aging 19 months in French oak barrels.

$27.00Add to cartA Community Wine and Spirits exclusive!
This delicious and juicy Cabernet is from Horse Heaven Hills, Washington, and is full of dark berry flavors that mix with a delicate spice. It’s firm and fleshy without being syrupy and oaked without being oaky. An incredibly balanced palate plays off of the more subtle notes milk chocolate, orange peels, and violets.
A stellar wine at a steal of a price.

Trig Point Diamond Dust Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
$36.00Add to cartFounded in 1998 by Nick and Yolyn Goldschmidt, Trig Point produces wines that are all single vineyard, handcrafted, small production, and artisanal. This focus on specific terroirs led them to the Diamond Dust vineyard in the benchlands of Alexander Valley—the perfect place to grow great Bordeaux varieties. The resulting wine is Bordeaux-leaning (dark blue and black fruit, savory cedar, licorice, earth) but can be enjoyed now, even if it does have the bones to age.
