The area is particularly know for white wines made with Listan Blanco grapes that are lifted by the trade winds blowing off the Atlantic, keeping temperatures low. His small operation makes very interesting expressions—this wine, for example, spends time under flor and develops similarities to a sherry while maintaining its volcanic, earthy freshness. Absolutely fascinating, absolutely delicious. (If you are looking for crisp, easily accessible Listan we’d recommend looking elsewhere as this is a delightful, but full bodied complex, pensive Listan.)

$45.00Add to cartThis 4th generation, organic Albariño specialist is one of our favorite new discoveries and produces delicious, elegant sea and granite influence wines. This expression is seven blended Albariño plots that are vinified separately and aged on the lees with weekly batonnage. The resulting win is beautifully textured and aromatic with an explosive nose of juicy Meyer lemon, zest, and white flowers framed by sea salt. Over a glass or two it will open into more expressive white peaches, juicy apples, and herbs all set over the granitic mineral core.

Nordes Gin 700ml
$50.00Add to cartDespite what you might think, the Spanish drink more Gin per capita than any other location on earth—primarily in Gin and Tonics which are served in huge, aroma enhancing glasses. Nordes is one of the best gins for that purpose. This Galician gin has eleven botanicals that are all macerated and distilled separately, one of the most impactful and interesting is Salicornia (a native sea vegetable that lends salinity and mineral maritime flavors. Overall the gin is fresh, fruity, and citrusy from lemon verbena and Albariño which is used to make the base distillate, but the palate has a bit more spice and a subtle touch of juniper. Absolutely delicious.

Vitícola Sileo, Montsant Sileo 2022
$27.00Add to cartIt’s often easy to overlook Montsant for the more well known Priorat, but we think that’s a mistake. The ring of hills that surround Priorat produce more subtle, elegant Grenaches that we can’t get enough of. We love Montsant because the elevation not only leaves the grapes with a notably higher acidity but with a freshness that comes from air moving around the hills as opposed to the valley floor. The Sileo (Latin for to be quiet) is a meditation on excellent and affordable Grenache from the family behind AT Roca and Anima Mundi who source organic grapes from calcareous soils. The wine is grippy with beautiful, lifted strawberry rhubarb pie that’s framed by flint. Delightful, expressive, and very fun.
