Domaine Taupenot-Merme Corton Rognet Grand Cru 2014
$340.00Add to cartWith land in both the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune, Romain Taupenot and his sister Virginie produce nineteen wines across seventeen appellations. Most of their holdings are premier or grand cru, all enviably placed with old vines. In winemaking they follow in the footsteps of Henri Jayer and focus first on their vineyards and hand harvest, de-stem, and cold soak before a natural fermentation with wild yeasts. The wines are excellent, complex, and terroir-driven.

Filep Kekfrankos 2022
$31.00Add to cartGergő Filep is a white wine in the village of Tállya in Tokaj, but in 2022 he decided to make a red: a Kékfrankos in his second home of Eger, 100 km southeast of Tokaj in Nagy-Eged, a very prestigious hillside that’s rich in limestone and boasts the highest elevation vineyards in Hungary.
-
Foxen Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2020
$50.00Add to cartFoxen is a legend in Santa Barbara wine country. Founded by Dick Doré and Bill Wathen in the late 70s it wasn’t until the late 80’s that they got their license (the 13th in the region which now is home to over 200). They work with some of the best fruit in the region where winemaker David Whitehair seeks to express the fruit cleanly. This fruit comes from the cooler pinot plots of Santa Maria which is closer to the coast than Foxen Canyon. The wine is a delightful pinot with all the hallmarks of fruit that benefits from a big shift between the night and day temperatures, and like all great Santa Barbara wines there’s a distinct tell of salinity.
-
Gai’a Agiorgitiko 2022
$28.00Add to cartThis red wine comes from Nemea on the Peloponnesian peninsula and is made with the Agiorgitiko (pronounced aye-yor-yes-tee-ko) grape. This is the most planted red grape in Greece and is the only grape planted in Nemea.
The grape has a tendency to grow too vigorously, so the vineyard managers at the excellent Gai’a winery work all season long to keep the vines cropped on these mountain foothills vineyards. The result is a fresh and solid red that is gusty, spicy, and a bit plummy.

Lioco Mendocino County Pinot Noir 2022
$32.00Add to cartPinot Noir loves a cool climate, so the strong influence of the cold Pacific air is the perfect place to grow this grape. The vintage was difficult for growers, meaning that the fruit that did make it to the winemakers was concentrated and expressive—perfect for Pinot lovers. Blending fruit from four sites around the county allowed Lioco to produce a gorgeously balanced wine that takes the best characteristics from each of their sites to produce a wine that tastes like Northern California: brambly coastal berries (cherry, black raspberry), pine resin, dried tobacco, iron, salinity, and blue florals.
