Clement et Florian Berthier Coteaux du Giennois Rouge 2022

First and foremost the fifth-generation Loire winemakers Clement and Florian Berthier are terroir-driven preducers. While they make plenty of Sauvignon Blanc, their focus is not on producing easy SB, but on producing wines that transparently show where they are from. While 80% of their production is white wine the do produce this beautiful blend of Pinot and Gamay that is juicy and fresh. It has rich that are complemented by floral and earthy undertones. There’s a bit of spice inflection from the terroir that sits on a well of deep minerality.
