Sono Montenidoli Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2023
$36.00Add to cartA gorgeously savory organic whire that’s a favorite of Olivia. Montenidoli’s estate is in the Tuscan hills between Siena and Florence and they produce distinct wines that have impressed other winemaking luminaries across the world.
Olivia’s pick comes from a producer that we’ve carried before but has recently returned to the shop. That’s right, fan (and staff) favorite Tuscan producer Montenidoli is back (for now). This beautifully textured white wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel but has a bit more skin contact than many white wines, imparting a firmer texture and deeper color. Delicious.

Tenuta Rapitala Grillo Viviri 2023
$20.00Add to cart“I’m not a fan of most Grillo—they mostly taste like cheap white wine! They are effortless, but in a bad way. I’m not above calling them insipid, but this wine has real character. It’s textured with great aromatics and you can tell the producers spent time working to make an excellent wine for a low price. I love it.” -David

Textura Encoberta Tinto 2018
$41.00Add to cartTextura comes from Marcelo Araujo, an incredibly passionate wine lover who launched the project in 2018 in the Dão region of Portugal with his family who relocated from Brazil. The vineyards are nestled against Portugals tallest inland mountain region (the Serra de Estrela) and produce incredible native varietals, even if you’ve never heard of the grapes they are growing.
The winemaking is led by Mariana Salvador with the consulting help of the legendary Luis Seabra who has trained the next generation of Portuguese winemakers focused on productions terroir-driven, complex wines. Clearly Mariana has talent as a winemaker (and student) and has made one of our favorite wines in the last few years.
Wine Enthusiast has this to say about this 2018 vintage: “An impressively rich wine, packed with firm tannins and structured black fruits. This is dense with pepper and spices along with succulent acidity.”

Thomas Batardiere Chenin Blanc L’Esprit Libre 2023
$54.00Add to cartWe receive only a tiny quantity of these jewel-like wines, but we’re always enchanted by their robust-but-elegant character. Batardière’s wines are somehow powerful, pretty, and crystal clear all at once, an unadorned expression of Anjou that could only come from this clear-headed and intuitive winemaker.
Certified Biodynamic. 100% Chenin Blanc. This wine is made of three parcels, situated in Rablay, with vines 15-90 years old. From plateaus of red sand and quartz gravel on schist. The juice is blended in steel tanks before the fermentation starts. The alcoholic and malolatic fermentations start naturally, without inoculation and without temperature control (his cave is underground and it’s 14 degrees C). The wine rests on its lees from pressing until summer without sulfur. Raised mainly in steel, although Thomas uses L’Esprit Libre to break in his 500L tonneaux that he then uses for ‘Clos de Cocus’ when needed. No SO2 added in 2023.

$40.00Add to cartBheeyo is a fascinating wine that brings us back to summer even in the middle of winter. Every time we taste it, it leaves us wanting a very specific pairing: a summer melon, jamon, and mint salad. This is a funky-leaning minimal intervention wine that we think has a lot of joy inside it.
