Gour du Chaule Gigondas Cuvee Tradition 2021
$49.00Add to cartA very pretty Gigondas from a longtime winemaking family. Blended from a few sites with an average age of well over half a century in age that have very low yields. The wine is aged in large oak foudres where it stays to be bottled unfined and unfiltered a full three years after harvest. It’s balanced but sturdy and has sweet tannins and aromatic, meaty spice.

In Basilicata they found terroir and untapped potential that they were excited to explore, particularly in the shadow of the Vulture volcano where stellar Aglianico grows. This wine is their entry level bottling and it is a delightful look at what the grape can be.

But this wine, oh this wine is just coming into its own. The reserve is the best of the best and if you are looking for the perfect Napa Cab this is a wine to drink now or save for the next decade.

Juan Francisco Farina Los Loros Listan Blanco 2022
$41.00Add to cartThis interesting wine comes from the Valle de Güímar, a small DO on the eastern coast of Tenerife. The area is particularly know for white wines made with Listan Blanco grapes that are lifted by the trade winds blowing off the Atlantic, keeping temperatures low. His small operation makes very interesting expressions—this wine, for example, spends time under flor and develops similarities to a sherry while maintaining its volcanic, earthy freshness. Absolutely fascinating, absolutely delicious. (If you are looking for crisp, easily accessible Listan we’d recommend looking elsewhere as this is a delightful, but full bodied complex, pensive Listan.)

Klein Costancia Vin de Constance 2019 500ml
$99.00Add to cartThis is a very premium dessert wine from a storied South African producer. Made with 100% Muscat de Frontignan, the Klein Constantia almost has a Sauternes-like quality, even if it’s made differently. It’s beautifully ripe but balanced. It’s like a rich buttery peach pastry; it’s opulent, but the fruit still shines through and is bolstered by rich spice and honeyed lemon curd. Below it all is a fine edge of minerality. An absolutely stellar way to finish a meal.
