Lioco Mendocino County Pinot Noir 2022
$32.00Add to cartPinot Noir loves a cool climate, so the strong influence of the cold Pacific air is the perfect place to grow this grape. The vintage was difficult for growers, meaning that the fruit that did make it to the winemakers was concentrated and expressive—perfect for Pinot lovers. Blending fruit from four sites around the county allowed Lioco to produce a gorgeously balanced wine that takes the best characteristics from each of their sites to produce a wine that tastes like Northern California: brambly coastal berries (cherry, black raspberry), pine resin, dried tobacco, iron, salinity, and blue florals.

Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021
$82.00Add to cartFor 40 years Merry Edwards produced Pinots that could be described as classically California. She retired in 2020 but the legacy continues on under her watchful eye. This wine blends a complete picture of Russian River. It’s big and boisterous cola tinged with candied black raspberries. Lush and juicy with a spiced finish.

Philippe Jouan Coteaux Bourguignons Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes 2022
$55.00Add to cartThis is the weeknight Burgundy of our dreams from a tiny producer in Morey-St.-Denis. This has everything you need and is a relative value. There’s a beautiful interplay of sweet berry fruit and tart rhubarb that sit on an earthy forest floor in the flavor profile—this is a producer who’s wines will go up in price, so get in while you can!
Olivia’s Notes:
-fruit seemed less precise here. balsamic strawberry (maybe even soy?), small Maine blueberries came to mind.
-barnyard-y minerality

Prost Pfalz Pinot Noir 2023

The region it hails from is the Pfalz which is Bordered by Rheinhessen on the north and France on the south and west, the Pfalz’s vineyards sweep across this remarkably pretty, peaceful land for nearly 90 uninterrupted kilometres with views of the tree-covered Haardt mountain range, castle ruins, fruit trees, and old walled villages of half-timbered houses.
