Caymus Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2018
$250.00Add to cartCaymus only produces two wines. Both are bold California Cabs, but what makes the special selection so special? The special selection takes the very best barrels of Caymus in only great vintages, which means that some years there isn’t a special selection. One of the points of pride for Caymus is that their wines are enjoyable on release or with age, so if you are looking for a special California Cab to drink tonight, look no further.

-
Favia Cab. Sauv Combsville 2019
$279.00Add to cartIf you don’t know Favia let us introduce you. Founded by husband and wife team Annie Favia and Andy Erickson in 2003, this winery has been steadily releasing some of the best (and most ageworthy) Cabernets in the valley. The reason they were able to come right out of the gate making such stellar wine is the pedigree that they bring to the table. She managed vineyards for Abreu and then Colgin, Harlan, and Aurajo while he was assistant winemaker at Harlan and then winemaker at Screaming Eagle among other projects.Sourced from three Coombsville vineyards: Meteor, The Rabbit Hole, and Collinetta. A glass-staining ruby-purple color. Intensely aromatic blackberry and cherry fruits are pure, precise, and layered with fragrant cedarwood notes, white pepper, and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with unctuous and concentrated dark berry fruits that have a satiny quality, framed by velvety fine-grained tannins and gobs of red licorice, aromatic violets, and graphite. So dense and tightly packed and yet so fresh and inviting. A classic Coombsville expression of Cab. -

Obsidian Ridge Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$50.00Add to cartThis is a wine that is an exploration of volcanic soil in a part of the world where twenty years ago, they planted a vineyard on an old abandoned walnut orchard, 2,875 feet high in the Mayacamas Mountains that turned out to be a ridge of solid black Obsidian glass. All of the extremes in this site come together to form a truly interesting wine that we think is worth trying for any Cabernet fan.

Philip Togni Spring Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$265.00Add to cartPhilip Togni has been working the vineyards and cellars of Napa for a long, long time—including making the 1969 Chappellet which is widely considered one of if not the greatest wine to come from California. We are thrilled to have a few of his wines. Here are the words of other major critics on just how important he is:“No one is more deserving of this success than Philip Togni, who has made some of the all-time great Napa Valley Cabernets going back to the late 1960s” – Antonio Gallioni“Cabernet enthusiasts who have not yet discovered Philip Togni should be on a crusade for his wines, which will handsomely repay extended cellaring.” – Robert Parker“They are tensile and savory, dark-fruited and cedar-edged, showing the broad, ripe structure that shows mastery with this particular grape. They routinely last 20 years or more, matching the toughness of great old Bordeaux with a Napan generosity.” – Jon BonneThis wine is his flagship and is a picture into a Napa of the past. It is a must drink for serious Napa fans.

Trig Point Diamond Dust Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
$36.00Add to cartFounded in 1998 by Nick and Yolyn Goldschmidt, Trig Point produces wines that are all single vineyard, handcrafted, small production, and artisanal. This focus on specific terroirs led them to the Diamond Dust vineyard in the benchlands of Alexander Valley—the perfect place to grow great Bordeaux varieties. The resulting wine is Bordeaux-leaning (dark blue and black fruit, savory cedar, licorice, earth) but can be enjoyed now, even if it does have the bones to age.
