Borgogno Barbera d’Alba 2022
$38.00Add to cartA steadfast friend of a wine. Borgogno is always a solid choice. As one of the most historical wineries in Barolo, many know them for their elegant Barolo wines, but the Barbera d’Alba is also absolutely worth drinking for occasions that don’t quite demand the prestigious cuvées.

Braida Bricco dell’ Uccellone 2019
$105.00Read moreA gorgeous Barbera that showcases the sensual and powerful side of the grape. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak before another year in bottle.
We love it, but don’t just take our word for it. Here is the review by the excellent Antonio Galloni from Vinous:
The 2019 Barbera d’Asti Bricco dell’Uccellone is one of the best versions of this wine I can remember tasting. Rich and full-bodied to the core, with stunning depth, the 2019 offers up a beguiling range of black fruit, mocha, chocolate, grilled herbs, lavender and incense. There’s still plenty of concentration and oak to support it, but without the excesses of some recent years. it has been a while since I have been able to say a Braida wine is exciting, but the 2019 certainly is!

Poderi Colla Roncaglie Barbaresco 2019
$77.00Add to cartHistorically the Roncaglie vineyard has been regarded as one of the best vineyards in Barbaresco, though it was rarely bottled on its own until Poderi Colla arrived in 1995. On the southern end of Barbaresco, the name Roncaglia comes from the Latin word “Roncaleis” meaning “steep road”, a nod to the drastic landscape when compared with the more common rolling hills of the Langhe. The grapes are macerated for 2-3 weeks then aged for one year in botti and 1-2 years in bottle before release.
