In 2005, Csaba Zsirai founded Zsirai Winery out of respect for the purity of nature, heritage preservation, and an affection for Hungarian wine.  After his tragic, early death in 2011 his daughters Petra and Kata, together with their mother, made the courageous decision to carry his dream forward—transforming a young family estate into one of the most exciting voices in modern Hungarian wine.

Today, the sisters steward vineyards across three of Hungary's most distinctive wine regions—Tokaj, Somló, and Villány—while the heart of the winery remains in the historic village of Mád, one of Tokaj's most revered wine-growing villages. Here, volcanic bedrock cloaked in layers of loess and clay provides the foundation for wines of remarkable precision, minerality, and longevity.
