Sekai Itto, Waka-No-Megumi Nanbu No Ume (Plum Sake) 720ml
Out of stock
Location: Wakayama Prefecture
Established in 1884, this family-run brewery has spent nearly 150 years proving that some traditions are worth hanging onto.
Hailing from Minabe, the home of Japan's prized Nanko Ume, this umeshu starts with plums so large, juicy, and flavorful they're practically overqualified for the job. Each ume is hand-sorted, carefully washed, and even pricked by hand before being gently steeped in the brewery's handcrafted sake.
Rather than cramming everything into massive tanks, the brewery opts for smaller vessels to keep the fruit from bruising—because happy plums make happier drinkers.
The payoff? An award-winning umeshu that earned Gold Medal honors three years in a row before being welcomed into the Umeshu Hall of Fame. (Yes, apparently that's a real thing—and yes, they earned it.)
Aroma: Sweet nectar of tree-ripened plums.
Palate: Lusciously sweet on entry, rich through the mid-palate, with bright acidity that keeps everything fresh and beautifully balanced.
Finish: Long, rich, and refreshingly clean.
Enjoy chilled, over ice, or topped with sparkling water for an effortlessly refreshing spritzer.
