Marenco Pineto Brachetto d'Acqui 2023

This is a lightly sweet, slightly sparkling wine or as they call it in Italy vivace (lively.) It pairs tremendously well with almost any chocolate-- light or dark. Chocolate with chiles in it ? No problem. It also has a place at the table with grapes, pomegranates and cranberry.  What about on its own ? It comes from the same area as Moscato d'Asti but is usually a little less sweet. It's an ideal brunch wine... beats the heck out of a mimosa. 

Brachetto is the grape, grown in the region of piedmont on whiteish sandy and limestone soils. This house has been producing wine for just over 100 years.
