Kolonia 52 Cabernet Franc 2023

Despite their young age, Hungarian winemakers Annamária and Attila have a lot of experience under their belt. The couple used to work – separately or together – for natural icons like Gut Oggau, Heinrich or Michael Gindl. The most influential was the philosophy and work of Horst Hummel, whom they remain very close with and consult on a regular basis.  Grapes are harvested and gently hand-destemmed into open fermentors. As they are mostly kept whole, the grapes undergo partial intracellular fermentation/ semi-carbonic maceration. After 10 days the wine is gently pressed, then settles in 400-500 liter big oak barrels where they age for 11 months. Bottled with nothing added.
