The Great Maison Drouhin in Burgundy France was among the first French wineries to see and invest in the potential of Oregon's Willamette valley. The Cuvee Laurene from Domain Drouhin comes from the Dundee Hills and is as good of a bottle of pinot noir as you can find in the United States under $100. It is a joy to drink. It has characteristic Willamette Valley dark fruit, tannic structure that signals the seriousness of the wine and plenty of savory notes like clove and even some toasted citrus notes.
