Corte Volponi Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2022

Fabio and Paolo Zenato, found inspiration in the Valpolicella’s rich history and launched an ambitious project to explore the highest standard of quality in viticulture and winemaking. In the heart of Valpolicella region, at an elevation over 1,200 feet, sits their 7-hectare vineyard just above the Quintarelli estate overlooking the town of Negrar. At this special site, they create a pair of wines under the Corte Volponi label, less than 40,000 bottles total produced. They practice sustainable farming and are affiliated with World Biodiversity Association.

Ripasso means to “repass”. For this style, freshly made wine is poured back into the tank with the dried grape skins leftover after the production of the Amarone. Bright red fruits and spice give way to more wild, dried flavors of plum and herbs on the palate and through the finish. A medium to full bodied wine with approachable tannins and a refreshing vibrant finish.
