Vietti

A Leading Name in Barolo and Barbaresco

Located in the heart of the Langhe hills, at the top of the village of Castiglione Falletto, the Vietti wine cellar was founded in the late 1800’s by Carlo Vietti. The estate has gradually grown over the course of time, and today the vineyard holdings include some of the most highly-prized terroirs within the Barolo and Barbaresco winegrowing areas. Their land today consists of 75 hectares of vineyards, distributed between Langhe, Roero, Asti, and Colli Tortonesi. Altitude in these vineyards range from 650-1500 feet. Soils are diverse including active limestone, silty clay, and sandy soils.

Sustainable since 2007, Vietti has eliminated the use of herbicides and has been working daily to achieve a chemical impact close to zero on their vineyards. They also promote biodiversity within their ecosystem and make active efforts to contribute to soil conservation, reducing erosion and enhancing the soil’s fertility.

In the cellar, they believe that man makes the difference. For this reason, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand with soft crushing and destemming. Gravity moves the must. To enhance its intrinsic characteristics, each plot is harvested, vinified, and aged in selected casks, separately. Only in this way can the peculiarities of each wine be elevated.
