Tua Rita

Mineral-Driven Wines From the Heart of the Maremma Tuscany

Tua Rita was founded in 1984, in the heart of the Tuscan Metalliferous Hills, in Suvereto, by Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti. Originally purchased as a small property with a few hectares of vineyards, the company has grown rapidly to its present size, producing approximately 25,000 cases a year.

Today, Tua Rita boasts 65 hectares. The vineyards are nestled between the land and the sea in the region known as Alta Maremma. This area is distinctively characterized by its soil, which is rich in stones, rocks, clay, silt, sand, and especially micro-minerals. This unique genetic heritage is reflected in Tua Rita's wines, which are aromatically marked by pleasant iron notes and, on the palate, by a beautiful saline character.

The vine breeding system alternates between single spurred cordon and double spurred cordon, while the planting density per hectare ranges from 5,000 to 9,000 vines. Every practice adheres to the principles of organic agriculture because Tua Rita's longstanding goal is to preserve the health of the grapes and the surrounding environment to the fullest extent possible.
