Padró i Família is a century-old, family-run winery stretching back over five generations dedicated to these crafts, keeping alive a winemaking philosophy that has been passed down from parent to child. They have been making wines, vermouths, and fortified wines since 1886, all with a Mediterranean character and a deep-rooted family heritage. It all began in Bràfim, where Daniel Padró and Rosa Valldosera opened a modest business with a single press and a simple distillery. There, they made and sold wines, mistelas, spirits and aniseed liqueurs.
The fifth generation endeavors to keep the same philosophy alive: bulk sales combined with the bottling of quality wines, vermouths and fortified wines, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand. This generation of the family has invested in the resources needed to modernize its winemaking processes, introducing new bottling lines, expanding its own vineyard acreage and building a new harvest reception and processing facility.
Padró Vermouths are produced entirely at their winery, sharing a common foundation of excellence. They use white wine from their own vineyards, made from Macabeo and Xarel·lo. The vermouth is carefully infused with natural botanicals and citrus fruits, before aging in wooden casks of different origins. They’re rested outdoors, exposed to sun and night air, following a unique traditional method.
