The story of Galicia’s very own gin, Nordés, began with a group of friends chatting over dinner and enjoying octopus. One a renowned sommelier, another a Galician wine merchant, and another a master distiller, The three friends began to dream of a unique gin using Galician ingredients. After much trial and error, they came across the perfect recipe that captures the essence of Galicia and is what we now know as Nordés Gin.

Nordés is named after the wind that heralds the arrival of fine weather in Galicia. Present in more than 50 countries around the world, it captures the pure essence of the Atlantic through unique flavours inspired by traditional Galician botanicals. Much of what makes Nordés Gin unique is its base spirit, made from albariño grapes. This means a smooth aroma with notes of white fruit and flowers, and a gin that is truly pleasant and easy to drink.

Nordés is known for its unique process, which sees each of its 11 botanicals steeped separately. These include 6 botanicals native to Galicia: sage, bay leaf, lemon verbena, eucalyptus, peppermint and salicornia, a marine plant that gives it its characteristic balsamic aroma. It also features 5 botanicals from overseas – juniper, ginger, cardamom, hibiscus and black tea – which give it delicate notes, creating a perfectly balanced flavour. Its herbal, fresh aroma with notes of white fruit, which is smooth and perfectly balanced, means it is a gin like no other.
