Klocke Estate is an earth-to-glass brandy & vermouth distillery. Set on one-hundred and sixty acres of farmland in Claverack, New York (five miles from Hudson), Klocke Estate uses sustainable agriculture methods to cultivate sixty acres of vineyards and apple orchards to make exquisite brandy, vermouth, and ready-to-drink cocktails.
Klocke Estate grows forty-three varieties of apples and nine grape varietals, specifically chosen and cultivated to make exceptional brandy. This is a combination of estate-grown fruit as well as fruits grown by trusted local partners. As their vineyards and orchards mature, their production is shifting to using majority estate-grown fruit. Their flagship aged apple and grape brandies are distilled in a 2500-liter Alembic Charentais pot still, imported from Cognac. The distillate is then aged in 400-liter French oak barrels. Klocke Estate also makes un-oaked eaux de vies from a variety of fruits grown by orchard-partners. These exquisite spirits are distilled on a bespoke 500-liter copper pot still.
This estate also produces Brevis White and Sweet Red Vermouths, a category of aromatized and fortified wine that is traditionally used in cocktails. Their recipes were developed to play nicely in mixed drinks but to also be delicious on their own.
