Born in Marlboroughin the year the first vines were planted, Jules has literally grown up with Sauvignon Blanc. Deeply invested in the region and its grape-growing families, she founded Jules Taylor Wines in 2001 and throughout her career has made some of Marlborough’s best known and successful wines, earning recognition as “one of Aotearoa’s modern wine pioneers,” according to Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas.
Marlborough is a sunny slice of paradise at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. The region put its grassy, in-your-face style of Sauvignon Blanc on the world wine map. But it’s not just Sauvignon Blanc. It turns out other varieties love Marlborough’s bountiful sunlight and free-draining soils. Hidden hillside sites with lower rainfall and clay soils are ideally suited to Marlborough’s increasingly popular Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Dedicated to sustainability, all grapes, wines and production facilities for Jules Taylor Wines are 100% accredited by the world-leading New Zealand Sustainable Winegrowers program which minimizes water, energy and chemical use, as well as outputs such as waste. The team is also working with a third-party certification scheme to measure and reduce carbon emissions.
