Arnaud started working the vineyards with his father when he was just 14 years old. After his father died suddenly and tragically in 2009, Arnaud was thrust into the spotlight of leading a domaine at the age of 21. His wife Catherine joined him at the domaine shortly thereafter. The holdings here have always been some of the best, with prime parcels in the best crus of the village, including Charmes-Desuss (directly adjacent to Comtes Lafon’s parcel), Poruzot-Dessus, and Genevrieres-Dessus. The vineyard work is fully organic with careful ploughing by horse. In the cellar, they use indigenous yeast for the fermentation and allows the wines to go through a long and slow elevage. The work that this dynamic duo put in has put them squarely in the conversation among the top producers of Meursault.
All his wines are barrel fermented in 1 and 2 year old casks from a number of coopers in an old vaulted cellar in Meursault. From 2008, A Meursault 1er Cru Poruzot augmented his range. He is solidly committed to improving quality through investment both in capital and in his own toil. He aims to buy or lease additional vineyards and seeks to join the top flight of Estates in Meursault.
