In Mercurey, a village nestled in Burgundy on the famous Côte Chalonnaise, the Michel Julliot Estate which has existed for four generations cultivates 30 hectares of vines producing a large selection of the best "climats" and expositions that Mercurey has to offer as well as several Côte de Beaune Crus. Michel's grandfather was even responsible for determining some of the boundaries of Mercurey. Together, Michel and his son Laurent create wines that are referenced by a great number of Michelin starred restaurants and are guaranteed by the many prizes and medals they have been awarded.
Domaine Michel Juillot covers 31 hectares across the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune. Created in 1928 in Mercurey, his vineyard is composed of 21 hectares of Pinot Noir and 10 hectares of Chardonnay. This is a production of 15,000 cases, over twenty appellations, half of Premiers and Grands Crus, which comes out every year from the winery. The Mercurey appellation, a 650 hectare area, offers winemakers rich and varied soil. It is thanks to this particular terroir that the wines have a beautiful natural structure. A least intrusive vinification as possible is done to keep these seductive properties found in the wines from Domaine Michel Juillot.
