Domaine Collet

Two Brothers Carrying Forward a 274-Year Legacy

Nestled in the southernmost appellation of the Côte de Blancs, skirting the Côte de Sézanne, lies the village of Fontaine-Denis. Vines have been grown here for more than a thousand years. The Champagnes of Domaine Collet in turn date back as far as 1744, the year the Collet family was first noted as wine-growers. In 2011, the Collet brothers Thomas and Florent had the courage and pride in their family's terroir to break from the region’s tradition, which their father René had largely followed, of selling to the Champagne houses and embarked upon bottling and marketing their Champagnes under their name.

The estate is comprised of 17 parcels over 6 hectares of about 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. In the cellar, many of the wines undergo a complex elevage involving barrique, foudre, egg and/or tank. In 2020, Domaine Collet began their Ecocert organic conversion by using plant-based decoctions and other natural products as well as organic farming techniques. They use only indigenous yeasts, and almost all their wines are below 5g dosage.

The Collet brothers practise a thoughtful, respectful approach to viticulture. Committed to organic farming, they protect their soils, encourage biodiversity, use herbal infusions and plant-based decoctions to support the vines, and carefully control yields to capture what truly matters. Every gesture is considered, with the sincere aim of revealing the unique character of each parcel.
