Cristom

A Volcanic Oregon Estate Producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Cristom Vineyards was established in 1992 by the Gerrie family to grow and craft distinguished wines of place that honor individual sites and traditional techniques. Family-owned for over thirty years, Cristom Vineyards is located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, an independent volcanic island chain in the center of the Willamette Valley, Oregon. The estate remains focused on growing benchmark Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The soils are comprised of a wide range of mineral rich volcanic materials that are very well drained. This diversity of soil is a true hallmark of this property and lends itself to diverse single-vineyard bottlings as well as harmonious cuvees pulling from each of the five estate vineyard sites. Cristom also sources fruit from the Willamette Valley’s most coveted vineyards and are proud to include their fruit in their most well-known and distributed wine, the Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir.

Bringing together biodynamic and organic farming methods, Cristom farms the land with the next 100-years in mind. Their winegrowing centers on the philosophy that the greatest expression of terroir produces the finest wines. The cornerstone of their winemaking is rooted in traditional methods – site selection, low yields, whole-cluster fermentation and native yeasts – to produce balanced, dynamic wines of intensity, structure and length.
