Chateau Respide Medeville

Two Historic Families, One Graves Estate

Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville are, in many ways, the first couple of French wines. Both hail from storied winemaking families: Julie's family is famous for its incomparable Chateau Gilette, and Xavier comes from a long line of Champagne growers in Le Mesnil. Leading a new generation of winemakers, they bring their family knowledge, methods and passion to the many wines they now make together.

Originally acquired by Julie's father, Christian Médeville in 1984, this estate showcases its sandy, gravelly, namesake soil. The dry Graves Blanc is fermented in stainless steel, spending a short time in oak barrels for aging and is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. The Graves Rouge is a blend of approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.

Since 2017, Château de Respide has been certified High Environmental Value (HVE). Since 2022, the estate is also certified "Bordeaux Cultivons Demain" (level 2), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) label for Bordeaux wines which puts human values and sustainable practices at the center of the company project.
