The Brown family have been in Napa since 1980. Siblings Deneen, Coral, and David began making wine in 1996 after a decade of selling their fruit to other producers. They harvested what would become their first eponymous vintage of Napa Valley Zin and established the Brown Estate label officially.
The Brown Estate reputation has been built upon making Zinfandel. Their wines consistently have been praised for their balance and structure (the latter being especially important to ageability), both byproducts of their property’s high elevation and advantageous microclimate, which in turn facilitate the fruit’s ability to hold acid late into the growing season when they’re pushing the limit to achieve optimal ripeness before harvest.
These palate-driven wines are regeneratively farmed in California. Their wines are certified sustainable, vegan-friendly, and 100% family-owned.
