Founded in 1996 by famed Chilean enologist Álvaro Espinoza and his family, Antiyal in the Maipo Andes is among Chile’s earliest biodynamic wine estates. They farm about 6 hectares of estate vineyards planted with Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, following Demeter-certified biodynamic principles.
Pura Fe is their more accessible, fruit-driven line, while their estate Antiyal bottling showcases old-vine Carmenère in a polished, complex style. Vineyard soils are alluvial with a high gravel content, contributing to the bright acidity and freshness typical of Maipo Alto. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous with minimal sulfites, and aging occurs in mostly used French barrels.
Antiyal’s work set a high bar for sustainable viticulture in Chile, and Pura Fe continues that tradition at a friendlier price point, maintaining purity and freshness.
