Alexakis

Maybe the most important producer on the ancient island of Crete

Founded in the 1970s by Stelios Alexakis, this family-run estate is the beating heart that fuels much of Crete’s wine scene. Today, Stelios’ sons, Lazaros and Apostoli, steer the ship, pairing deep technical skill with a rare network of relationships among the island’s small growers. The result is a set of distinct, small-batch cuvées for the American market that taste like the raw Cretan sunshine. They are vibrant, present a great value, and are rooted in vinegrowing traditions that have been thriving here for millennia.
