AJ Adam

AJ Adam is a modern hero of the Mosel

Andreas Adam (A.J. Adam) is part of the new wave of producers redefining the Mosel in Germany. Located in Dhron, a side valley off the Mosel River, the estate is focused on dry and feinherb (off-dry) Riesling from some of the most dramatic vineyards in the area—including the steep, slate-rich Dhroner Hofberg.

Founded in 2000 after Adam reclaimed his grandfather’s vines, the winery has since earned acclaim for its crystalline, mineral-driven wines. Farming is sustainable and low-intervention, with steep terraces worked by hand. Fermentations are spontaneous, and the wines are aged in stainless steel and traditional Mosel fuder (1000L oak casks).

The style here is precision and tension: herbal, citrusy, and piercingly mineral, with vibrant acid backbones and long, salty finishes. Cuvées like the Hofberg Riesling Kabinett, Feinherb, and Trocken bottlings are sought after for their clarity and aging potential.
