Les Vignerons d’Estézargues make an exceptional Cotes du Rhone from 57% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 5% Cinsault, 4% Carignan, 3% Mourvèdre aged in concrete vats.
The label tells you so much about this wine. The soils are some of the very same rocky soils from which Chateuneuf-du-Pape hails. Yet as the vigneron tip toes across the bottles, you immediately understand that the power of these old vines is tempered by a fruit forward balancing act. This is a great example of how Co-ops can produce fantastic wine. Imported by the wine industry legend Kermit Lynch. An absolute staff favorite.
