After 10 years making wine for the family winery, Marcell Bukolyi struck out on his own and formed his own winery in 2016. The winery is 14 hectares, and it is the only fully certified organic winery in Eger.
Marcell and his wife Lilla purchased their first tract of land at the foot of the Nagy-Eged hill in 2016. Now they have 14-hectares here, planted with Kékfrankos, Furmint, Hárslevelű, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir.
They live directly next to the winery, and they do all parts of the winemaking process themselves, from the cultivation of their vineyards to the bottling and labeling of the wines.
The Kisfiam (“my boy”) is the only certified organic Egri Bikavér (Bull’s Blood). It is characteristic of the blend, with spicy forest fruits, vibrant acidity and medium tannins. Rich, structured and lively. Notes of cherry cobbler, herbs and spices on the nose, with raspberries and zippy grapefruit on the palate and an earthy long finish. Spontaneous fermentation in open vats without temperature control, followed by aging in used Hungarian oak for 12 months. Unfiltered and unfined.
