Lago Rose 2024

This sustainably farmed wine comes from estate vineyards in the Amarante sub-region of Vinho Verde, located at elevations between 1,000 and 2,000 meters just 40 minutes from Oporto and near the entrance to the Douro Valley. The south-facing vineyards are planted in crushed gravel schist soils, and the region’s high-altitude microclimate—with significant day-to-night temperature swings—allows for longer hang time and more even ripening of the grapes.
The vines are pruned twice yearly to encourage healthy growth, and the grapes are hand selected at harvest with average yields of about 4 tons per acre. In the cellar, the fruit is destemmed and gently pressed before the juice is extracted and clarified by gravity. Fermentation takes place over 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by filtration and stabilization before bottling. The finished wine contains 10 g/L of residual sugar, contributing balance and freshness.
