Serafino Rivella Barbaresco Montestefano 2021

The 2021 Barbaresco from Italy’s Piedmont region is crafted entirely from Nebbiolo, sourced from the renowned Montestefano Cru in the commune of Barbaresco. Grown on south-facing slopes with limestone-rich soils and tufo beneath, the old vines—planted in 1963—are farmed using organic practices and harvested by hand. Fermented traditionally with submerged cap maceration, the wine is aged for 34 months in neutral botti and an additional six months in bottle, allowing it to develop depth, structure, and elegance. With only about 750 cases produced each year, this is a limited, classically styled Barbaresco from a winery whose first vintage dates back to 1967.
