Garrison Brothers Straight Bourbon Whiskey Guadalupe Cask Strength 750ml

Everything is bigger in Texas, and apparently, bourbon is no exception! Hailing from Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Guadalupe is a bold, unapologetic bourbon with a rather sophisticated Portuguese twist. Crafted from a mash bill of 74% corn, 15% soft red winter wheat, and 11% malted barley, this whiskey spends four years aging in new charred American white oak barrels before enjoying an additional two years in Portuguese tawny port casks. The result? A beautifully rich, complex bourbon where Texas muscle meets a little Old World elegance. Bottled at a formidable 107 proof (53.5% ABV), Guadalupe certainly isn't shy about making its presence known.
The nose opens with an intoxicating combination of candied dark fruit, seasoned oak, and luscious vanilla custard. Give it a few minutes in the glass to stretch its legs, and things really start getting interesting. On the palate, an explosion of black raspberry and ripe plum leads the charge, followed by peppery oak, hints of tobacco, and a savory undertone that keeps all that richness in check. Dark chocolate and coffee-infused crème brûlée join the party, with a warming touch of cinnamon spice rounding things out. It's decadent, powerful, and remarkably expressive, drinking even bigger than its proof might suggest. This is not a bourbon that whispers sweet nothings—it walks into the room wearing cowboy boots and makes sure you know it's there.
