This red wine comes from Nemea on the Peloponnesian peninsula and is made with the Agiorgitiko (pronounced aye-yor-yes-tee-ko) grape. This is the most planted red grape in Greece and is the only grape planted in Nemea. 

The grape has a tendency to grow too vigorously, so the vineyard managers at the excellent Gai’a winery work all season long to keep the vines cropped on these mountain foothills vineyards. The result is a fresh and solid red that is gusty, spicy, and a bit plummy.
