Founded in 1959 by Jorge Salles Cuervo, El Tequileño (named for the people of Tequila in Jalisco, Mexico) has been an incredibly solid producer of highland agave tequilas for more than half a century. Recently Juan Antonio Salles, (son of Jorge) was bestowed the title of Gran Tequilero, which to date only 4 people have been awarded. 

His passion and drive have led to stellar tequila production that is snatched up by people who know how good it is. This still strength bottling is fermented with a yeast influenced by the properties 150 mango trees and the natural volcanic spring water. They prioritize ripe agave and distill in copper pots which results in a smooth but full bodied tequila perfect for sipping or mixing in a strong cocktail.
